The work of Mayor and Council is much more than meetings. Council members regularly report their activities on behalf of our community, and we publish these reports monthly in Council agenda packages. Here’s mine, consolidated into a page for each year so far.
Voting Record and Public Meetings
In my two years serving on Cumberland Council, we have considered many issues. How we vote often determines the outcome of many of these issues and forms a record of the substantial choices we make at the Council table. Getting there usually takes a great deal of work from everyone involved to reach consensus and bring forward only issues with a good chance of success.
Some of that work happens in our Committee of the Whole meetings, which are open to the public and published on YouTube. These are more exploratory and discussion-focused and often result in issues that members of Council disagree upon being taken back and reconsidered by staff, consultants, applicants or proponents.

Professional Work
I trained as a chemical engineer and worked in the field of engineering and business management until leaving the UK in 2007. Since arriving in Canada I have founded and run small businesses and developed a specialism in web development and technical leadership.
My main professional work today is as owner of The Update Company and Technical Director at Boleyn Media.
